About the Author

J.K. Egerton is the CEO and founder of Business on the Board™. He is a respected thought leader, teacher, coach, manager, entrepreneur, and a #1 International Best Selling author whose work has impacted the lives of thousands. His management, information technology and training experience comes from serving in the health care, energy and finance industries.

Managers use chess metaphors when they want to be perceived as strategic and tactically savvy, but rarely do they actually play chess. Even more rare are those managers who fully understand how to apply chess strategies and tactics to grow their companies.  These strategies and tactics work because the author implemented them while leading fourteen direct reports  during a twenty-five year corporate career. Business on the Board is his first business management self-help book.

The author has coached championship teams, taught chess for twenty-three years, full-time for twelve. His students are improving their lives through the applications of chess knowledge and skills. The author has a B. S. degree in mathematics from Northern Illinois University and a MBA degree in finance from Illinois Tech. He started his career teaching mathematics and has spent his entire working life teaching and improving the lives of others.
